Positions

I am a biological oceanographer with research interests in biodiversity, distribution, and abundance of life in the ocean and on the seafloor. I work on a broad variety of research topics, but the following theme captures the spirit of my work: “Biodiversity for a healthy ocean.” My specialty is deep-sea benthic biodiversity, although I also have a breadth of experience working at coastal depths. I also have been expanding my skills in ocean informatics, serving as coordinator of WHOI’s Ocean Informatics initiative since 2013. I also teach for the WHOI/MIT Joint Graduate Program and am actively involved in public outreach.
