Our research program addresses basic molecular mechanisms underlying the regulation of axonal transport (AT), a specialized form of intracellular trafficking in neuronal cells. Relevant to the Biomedical research field, our studies aim to shed light on pathogenic mechanisms by which AT deficits promote loss of axonal connectivity in several adult-onset neurodegenerative diseases including Huntington's disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, and Parkinson's disease.
