The production of binucleate mammalian cell populations Academic Article uri icon

abstract

  • Populations of BHK21/C13 fibroblasts that are 90 to 95% binucleate can be obtained within a short time period by combining the use of cytochalasin B with mitotic synchrony techniques. Such binucleate cell populations are potentially useful for investigating a wide variety of genetic and physiological phenomena, and can be used as a means to produce tetraploid cell lines.
